Neo-Gothic Weimarer City Hall

Weimar is one of those hidden treasures that we never know about until the first words come to mind: The Weimar Republic, the period between 1919 and 1932 where democracy in Germany was in its trying times.
The first town hall on this site in Weimar was mentioned around 1400. It was completely ruined during a fire. Today´s town hall in the neo-gothic style is already the third building here - it was erected in 1841. Its tower contains a set of bells - a "Glockenspiel" - from Meissener porcelain, which rings out several times a day.
