Hausmannsturm - Lookout of a castle with stunning views

For fine views of Dresden, Germany, head up the Hausmannsturm. The tower is the main tower of the Dresden Palace complex. From 1674 to 1676, it was expanded to a height of 100 meters.
Throughout every historical era, observation towers were erected. While the Dresden's historic buildings can be experienced in an up close and personal way during a walking tour, visiting this observation tower also affords a view of Dresden's bustling city life. It opens up the city's riches in a completely new way.
Numismatists might like to pop into the Münzcabinett (Coin Collection), also in the tower.
