Forest Fantasy - Quinault - Gateway to Paradise on the Olympic Peninsula, WA

Just beyond the shores of brilliant Lake Quinault on the Olympic Peninsula in the State of Washington is the temperate Quinault rain forest.
Stepping into this magical place, full of huge old-growth trees, moss draped over a tree next to a small stream, dew-dripping moss-laden giant ferns and a deep forest lake is like stepping into a storybook.
Quinault's temperate rain forest receives an average of 12 feet (3.65 meter) of rain per year and is believed to be the area with the greatest number of record size giant tree species in the smallest area in the world. It is amazing to see what nature creates with so much rain which comes in heavy down pours along with a tremendous roar as countless raindrops pelt millions of leaves, each hitting with a splat, then dripping to the ground.
