Skull Rock - The Hills Have Eyes

Joshua Tree National Park is not only famous for its Joshua trees but also for its rock formations. Skull Rock is one of those weird looking rock formations.
It began long ago when rain drops accumulated in tiny depressions and started to erode the granite. As more rock eroded, more water accumulated, leading to more erosion until, as time passed, two hollowed-out eye sockets formed and the rock began to resemble a skull. The strange anthropomorphic symmetry that causes stone to resemble bone takes on an appearance of timeless desolation with only patches of scrub or the occasional skittering lizard to break the visual spell.
This gigantic oddly shaped monster skull rock formation is fun to climb about.
