Traces of socialist idealism in Dresden

From busts of Karl Marx to paintings glorifying the "Heroes of Socialist Labour", Artworks such as "Celebration of Miners", "Industrial Landscape" and "Album on the History of the Soviet Army" once adorned the walls of Houses of Culture and offices of the National People's Army or the ruling Socialist Unity Party in the German Democratic Republic (GDR).
Socialist realism prescribed a generally optimistic picture of socialist reality and of the development of the Communist revolution. Its purpose was education in the spirit of socialism.
Was it 'propaganda art' or visual communication? What ever it was, much of it was dismanteled after the destruction of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of East and West Germany.
This Communist Propaganda Wall Mural photographed in Dresden is not dismantled yet. It is part of german history and why it happened as it did. Why deny it?
