Mary's Bar Los Cerillos, New Mexico

The tiny living ghost town of Cerrillos on Highway 14 (aka Turquoise Trail), less than 20 miles away from Santa Fe, NM is a place to truly hide - not just from people, but from the present day. The town that was once seriously considered as the capitol of New Mexico looks and feels as if everyone has left. But that's not really true.

Those who do live here enjoy the facade of a deserted place. And they enjoy a cold beer at a ramshackle-looking joint called Mary's Bar, one of those rare places that transcends authenticity as if the Wild West has never faded.
