Bad-luck omikuji in Asakusa Tokyo Japan

New work posted today ...

Omikuji is literally a "sacred lottery". Random fortunes are written on strips of paper and can be purchased at Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples all over Japan.

To get rid of any bad karma just tie the daikyou (bad luck) paper strip to a wall of metal wires alongside the shrine- or temple ground and you are all set.
The concept is: Leave the bad luck at the shrine, were the divine spirit can exorcise it, and take the daikichi (good luck) home with you.
